I represented the school along with other team members to join URA Cube 2017 competition. We achieved Merit Award, Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s  Challenge for the Urban and Built Environment (CUBE) 2017 Workshop. The overall experience was a memorable and fulfilling one especially when my teammates were a fun, creative, cooperative and lovely bunch! We were specially guided by a senior architect student who taught us what we needed to know in order to create a good architectural design. During the whole competition, we were involved in group discussions, presentations, site surveys and investigation, model building and etc. The works from the other schools were very interesting and insightful as well! The theme of this year's competition is to turn Mei Chin into the heart of Queenstown.

We were all trying to pose like mushrooms which was the theme of our project!

Presentation to architects and audiences.

Doing site survey and interviews with Mei Chin's residents.

Working together and having fun was the best part of the competition!

We decided to use fungi as our main theme because just like how mushrooms reproduce rapidly, we want Mei Chim to be a blooming community as well!

I sketched out various mushrooms for structure inspirations.

Our completed model!! Fungi Community :)

We were 24/7 hungry however continued to discuss our project while eating. Evidently, all of us put in our best effort and hoped for the best!

Celebratory meal treated by our dear senior guide!
